Do I need an electrician or plumber to fix an electric shower?
An electrician or plumber can install the plumbing supply to the shower but it MUST be a qualified electrician to test and connect the electrics. The reason for this being the electrical tests carried out to ensure the shower is safe to operate requires electrical competence and expensive testing equipment.
Is it possible to repair an electric shower
We have repaired showers in the past but we always recommend to replace a faulty shower unit. It is usually either the power supply to the shower which has stopped working which could be because it has burnt out or a damaged cable/solenoid valve or the element which has gone faulty. If the element has gone faulty the water coming out of the shower will not get hot, this can be replaced however as the average life expectancy of a shower unit is 5 years we would strongly recommend to replace the shower as other components may become faulty around the same time.
